WHERE IT ALL STARTED...

My ideas for products started many years ago. I trained as a sports scientist and travelled a lot with teams. During my spare time I was also a keen kayaker and expedition leader which meant i camped a lot and spent a great deal of time getting soaked!

I fashioned together several products (and clothes!) through my own necessity over the years and then an opportunity presented itself for me to start this business. I went to the drawing board and started to bring my creations to life, luckily, I had some textile design experience and I am quite adept with a sewing machine, something I learnt from my mum.

A good example of my experiments is the book bag, my books always ended up wet, torn, pages missing, ereaders were not around at this point! ... my first prototype was an old tent doorway which I cut up, keeping the zip part in it and made a waterproof book bag, I made another 'indoor' laptop bag with a camp mat for padding and some old clothes.
These have now been tweaked and you can see them in the shop as oilcloth book bags and fabric tablet sleeves.

My sandwiches pouches were the next to get the design treatment, I had been using more plastic bags than I wanted to put into the environment, and for a few years I discarded these and put my sandwiches straight into a small cooler bag, however the sandwiches did go hard and being directly next to pvc i wondered how safe that was, so I went on the hunt for food safe products and came up with Procare. Ta Da... the certified food safe sandwich pouch was born!

Along with having a passion for the outdoors I want to help people to become more environmentally friendly, to encourage a keep and fix culture rather than a throw away culture.

I am now constantly thinking about how I am going to make some of my earlier prototypes into products that you will want to use and find useful!
